About Us

The California Dental Assistant Program (CDAP) is a forward-thinking initiative dedicated to providing resources, educational tools, and hands-on experiences for dental assistants, pre-dental students, and other aspiring dental professionals. Our mission is to equip students with the essential skills needed to excel in their careers, including life-saving techniques such as CPR training.

Position Overview

We are seeking a CPR Instructor to provide high-quality CPR training to our students, ensuring they acquire the necessary certification required for their careers in dental assisting. This role is ideal for a certified CPR professional who is passionate about teaching and empowering students with critical emergency response skills. The instructor will be responsible for conducting engaging training sessions, assessing student performance, and ensuring compliance with CPR certification requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct CPR certification classes following American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross guidelines.
• Educate students on proper CPR techniques, including adult, child, and infant resuscitation, AED use, and choking relief.
• Demonstrate hands-on techniques and oversee practical training to ensure student competency.
• Assess and evaluate students' understanding and practical application of CPR skills.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and certification completion.
• Ensure all training materials and equipment are up to date and properly maintained.
• Collaborate with the program team to schedule and coordinate training sessions.
• Stay informed on the latest CPR guidelines and best practices to ensure compliance and high-quality instruction.

Qualifications

Required Certifications:

• Current certification as a CPR Instructor through the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross, or an equivalent recognized organization.
• First Aid and AED certification preferred.

Experience & Skills:

• Prior experience teaching CPR to individuals or groups, preferably in an educational or healthcare setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students effectively.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining training standards.
• Basic proficiency in using online learning management systems (LMS) and digital training materials is a plus.

Interview Process

Application Review:

Initial Screening Call (20-30 minutes):
A brief phone call with HR to discuss your background, teaching experience, and availability.

Demo Teaching Session (30-45 minutes):
Candidates will be required to demonstrate their CPR teaching skills in a simulated class environment.

Final Interview (30-45 minutes):
A discussion with the program director to assess cultural fit, teaching philosophy, and long-term goals within the program.
